Cheese Mochi
Mochi Nabeyaki Udon $12.00
The piping hot nabeyaki udon is topped with
sliced mozzarella cheese and mochi. In addition
there is chicken and kamaboko (fish cake).
The mozzarella cheese and mochi melt and mixes
with the udon you scoop from below. The melting
texture of the udon is quite interesting.
The udon soup uses bonito soup base and is
very light. They don’t use soy sauce
for a reason. They don’t want it to
ruin the white color of the udon, mochi, and
cheese. This is a must have dish for cheese
lovers. |

Chilled Seafood
Udon $13.50
There are colorful sashimi pieces scattered
over a chilled udon. When you see the splendid
udon in front of you, you might be surprised
at first. The sashimi includes tuna, salmon,
salmon roe, white fish (this day was engawa),
and octopus. It is like chirashi, but with udon
instead of rice. The combination of the chewy
udon and the sashimi is superb and melts in
your mouth. You enjoy it with Japanese dressing,
but this goes extremely well with the udon.
The sauce is soy sauce based and a little tangy,
but there is crushed mustard in it. This crushed
mustard is what makes it amazing. This is a
dish you must try at least once. |

Taco Rice $11.95 (Wednesday
Lunch Special)
A Taco is placed on a bed of rice in this
“Taco Rice.” This was made popular
by a chef who is from Okinawa. He started
it to introduce more people to the Okinawa
taste. When you think of Mexican food, you
tend to think of spicy foods, but here they
arranged it for Japanese taste. It might be
easier to understand if you call it Mexican
style soboro. The soboro is a little sweet
and has a hint of juiciness. The lettuce that
is cut up into a thousand strips gives a nice
texture, and the tomatoes add freshness. When
you put them all in the mouth, everything
becomes one. You can add cilantro, Tabasco,
or lemon to this taco rice to enjoy a variety
of tastes. |
